Why I Paint

I paint to express myself.

The beauty of nature moves me, and I want to capture it and share it with others.

When I stand in front of the canvas and paint, everything around me fades into the background, and I notice nothing but what is taking shape on the canvas.

Whenever I can, I paint outdoors rather than from a photograph. Standing in the actual light, feeling the air and the changing weather, gives a painting a mood and atmosphere that working indoors from a photo simply cannot capture.
